Overview

O'Meara Commons serves as a collaborative mathematics support space for students at the University of Notre Dame. Located in the basement of Hayes-Healy Hall, the Commons combines drop-in tutoring, collaborative study spaces, review programming, and peer support structures designed to help students succeed in mathematics courses across the curriculum.

The space supports students in courses ranging from introductory calculus through more advanced mathematics courses and emphasizes community, accessibility, and collaborative problem-solving.

Math Help Room

The Math Help Room provides over 40 hours of weekly drop-in support staffed by undergraduate and graduate tutors. Students can stop by for help with homework, conceptual questions, exam preparation, or collaborative study.

One of the goals of the Commons is to create an environment where students feel comfortable asking questions, working together, and developing stronger mathematical habits and confidence.

Booster Shots

Booster Shots are short, topic-focused review sessions aligned with the pacing of large mathematics courses. These sessions typically include a brief conceptual review followed by collaborative examples and guided problem-solving.

The goal is to provide students with timely opportunities to revisit difficult concepts, ask questions, and build confidence before quizzes and exams.
